The European Foundation
for Support of Culture (EFSC)
is a non-profit organization established in Malta with the main idea behind this ambitious project is to eventually transform Malta from a European cultural province to one of the main European cultural destinations. The island, rich of historical heritage and artifacts, with its pleasant sunny climate, surrounded by the majestic Mediterranean Sea, deserves such a title indeed.
EFSC was founded in order to organize and promote cultural, educational, entertaining and sporting events as well as other activities in Malta, Europe and other parts of the world. The Foundation is proud to announce its main goals such as:
• To create interest in various arts, especially music, at all tiers of society
• To assist in exchanges of knowledge and experience on international level between all those interested in culture
• To play a vital role in the upbringing of young people, introducing them to quality cultural products and traditional values
• To create opportunities to the various groups and individuals to boost their creativity, showcase their talents, master their skills and even choose a career
• To offer high quality leisure for people from all walks of life.
EFSC’s events portfolio is vast and already includes a number of classical music recitals, concerts and festivals in various European countries including Malta.
EFSC has also established collaborations with other Foundations, Cultural Associations, Governmental Institutions, Embassies and Cultural Centres in Malta and Europe.
The Foundation is backed by ambitious and enthusiastic people who have culture at heart. EFSC is in constant search for new directions for its development and welcomes everyone who shares its love to arts.
The European Foundation for Support of Culture (EFSC) in cooperation with Malta Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) is presenting the 6th edition of the Malta International Music Festival being held between 15th April and 1st May.
Malta International Piano Competition 2018 makes final part of the big series of 11 international piano competitions where 5 best participants of each competition are admitted taking part in the Malta International Piano Competition 2018 in the framework of the “Malta International Music Festival 2018”. The best contestant is to set to win 100 000 Euro when Total Prize Fund comes to unbelievable 200 000 Euro!
The festival will feature highly acclaimed world-famous musicians, including the return to Malta of the legendary pianist Grigory Sokolov and the highly awaited Malta appearances of Maxim Vengerov, Lyuba Kazarnovskaya, Ray Chen, Salvatore Accardo, Andreas Ottensamer, Nikolai Lugansky, Julia Zilberquit, Denis Kozhukhin, Ray Chen, Narek Hakhnazaryan, David Aaron Carpenter, Andrea Cortesi among many others. The MIMF 2018 offers a rich and varied programme including solo recitals, chamber concerts and grand orchestral concerts with the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra and the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra at the Republic Hall of the Mediterranean Conference Centre and Pjazza San Gorg in Valletta and Robert Samut Hall in Floriana.
The mission of the European Foundation for Support of Culture through the presentation of this Festival is to re-discover, promote, support and document the great masters for piano while providing audiences with a unique musical experience; to build the audiences of the future to help ensure the very existence of classical music.
With so many artistic achievements to its credit, the European Foundation for Support of Culture looks forward towards the continued success of its classical music projects in the future.
