Anna Aglatova is a leading soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre, one of the most popular Russian singers in the world. In Europe she is called "the younger sister of Cecilia Bartoli", an outstanding Italian coloratura mezzo-soprano. Nowadays, Anna performs the leading roles in almost all opera calendar of the repertoire of the Bolshoi Theatre.

When she was a student of the 4th year of the Gnesin School, Anna, after a serious casting, which involved more than 100 sopranos, was invited by the Bolshoi Theatre Directorate, led by artistic director, conductor Alexander Vedernikov, to take part in the production of Verdi's "Falstaff". Despite her young age, she played one of the main roles-the party of Nannette.

    Thanks to her extraordinary talent and tremendous energy, Anna was able to win not only the love of the audience, but also the respect of eminent colleagues.

    At that time, Anna was the youngest soloist of the Bolshoi Opera Company.

    Her highest professionalism allowed Anna to perform simultaneously on the stage of the Bolshoi Theatre, performing at once two main parts in Mozart's opera The Magic Flute, and participate in one of the most prestigious competitions in the world of young singers "Neue Stimmen", which took place in Germany, where she became the winner.Following this, Anna became a laureate of the "Triumph" award for achievements in the field of arts. Behind the shoulders of this young successful singer are calendar at the most famous concert venues of the World. Salle Pleyel in Paris, Megaron Moussikis in Athens, Musikverein in Vienna, Seoul Arts centre in Seoul, Lincoln centre in New York, National Palace of Culture in Sofia.

    Her debut on the stage of the Vienna Opera House as Norina in Donizetti's Don Pasquale was not only a huge success for the public. Anna was also warmly received by the whimsical Austrian critics who noted her bright talent as an actress and an incredibly beautiful voice.Anna's acting talent is highly appreciated by Russian critics: she was twice nominated for the national award "Golden Mask" in the nomination "Best female role in the opera"

    Anna is equally beautiful both in lyrical parties, and in comic parties, where you need to use not only technical vocal skills, but also to show the outstanding talent of an actress. She is delightful in Mikaela's party in the opera "Carmen", but also in the party of Suzanne in "Wedding of Figaro" will be difficult to find her equal. Now she has in repertoire: Donna Anna (Don Giovanni Mozart), Rosina ("The Barber of Seville" Rossini), Manon in the opera Manon Massena, Cleopatra (Julius Caesar Handel) and many other parties. Such an extensive repertoire proves once again the uniqueness of this singer.

    In addition to her extraordinary talent, Anna is also distinguished for her incredible work capacity. Thanks to this, she was able to win the love and respect of not only outstanding conductors such as Vladimir Spivakov, Evelino Pido, Vladimir Fedoseyev, Enrique Mazzola, but also her famous colleagues with whom she had to divide the stage more than once. This is Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Jose Carreras, René Pape, Carlo Lepore, David Hansen.

    In 2014, Anna was awarded the title of Laureate of the State Prize of the President of Russia for her contribution to the development of Culture.

Cliff Zammit Stevens

Tenor

Tenor Cliff Zammit Stevens has been described as a ‘revelation’ (Daily Express), and as ‘showing exceptional promise’ (Opera Magazine). Starting his vocal training at the age of 14 with renowned soprano Gillian Zammit, Cliff is a recent Masters in Performance graduate from the Royal College of Music (RCM), which was generously supported by the Malta Arts Scholarship Scheme, the BOV Joseph Calleja Foundation and Janatha Stubbs. He counts Juliette Bisazza as one of his mentors.

Over the years, Cliff has taken part in many workshops and master classes with highly praised musicians, including Dame Ann Evans, Edith Wiens, Delfo Menicucci and Janis Kelly. Most recently he was nominated by the internationally-acclaimed Tenor Joseph Calleja and awarded a scholarship to join the summer academy at the Mozarteum University of Salzburg under the guidance of Anna Tumowa-Sintow.

    Cliff was one of the finalists in the Lies Askonas Competition and made it to the final rounds of the Francesco Vinas and Belvedere International singing competitions. He has performed at the Office of the Prime Minister here in Malta, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and had the honour of performing at a master class for Robert Sutherland (Maria Callas’ ex-accompanist). He was also invited to perform alongside Joseph Calleja and global superstar Anastacia during Calleja's Annual Summer Concert at Luxol.

    This past year saw Cliff perform concerts and operas around Europe, notably Le Nozze di Figaro at the Theatre de champs-elysees in Paris, London and Corfu, touring 'i Capuleti e i Montecchi' across the UK and headlining Malta's EU presidency concert in Berlin.

    Cliff has also recently founded 'The Marcy Foundation', which will raise awareness and tackle issues including domestic violence, mental health, child abuse, drug and substance abuse, and HIV.

    In 2016 he won First Prize and special award at the 12th International Aram Khachaturian Conducting Competition in Yerevan, Armenia.

    Miran Vaupotić performed at numerous major halls including the famous Carnegie Hall in New York City, Musikverein in Vienna, Rudolfinum and Smetana Hall in Prague, Cairo Opera House in Cairo, Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing, Oriental Art centre in Shanghai, Tchaikovsky Hall and International House of Music in Moscow, CBC Glenn Gould Studio in Toronto, Victoria Hall in Geneva.

    In the summer of 2011 he made his opera debut in the United States, conducting Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro at the Atlantic Coast Opera Festival in Philadelphia. Same year he conducted Astor Piazzolla’s rarely performed tango opera Maria de Buenos Aires in a new fully staged production by Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall in Zagreb, Croatia, directed by Mario Kovač and performed with the Zagreb Soloists, Ivan Filipović Chamber Choir featuring renowned singers Sandra Rumolino, Jorge Rodriguez and Jose Luis Baretto. In 2012 he conducted the Empire Opera premier productions of Waundel Saavedra’s Sweet Dreams and John Alan Rose’s Rumpelstiltskin directed by Tyler Bunch (The Muppets) in New York City at The National Opera America centre, while in 2013 he debuted at the Croatian National Opera in Zagreb with Rossini's Il barbiere di Siviglia.

    Miran Vaupotić led three large China National New Year Tours, with the St. Petersburg State Hermitage Orchestra in 2013, the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra in 2014 and the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra in 2016, performing at most eminent Chinese venues.

    A strong advocate for new music he premiered Carlos Franzetti’s Clarinet Concerto, Peter Machajdík’s Farewell Fanfare, Youngkwang Yang’s Korean Folksongs, Roberto Di Marino's Guitar Concerto, Primous Fountain’s Symphony No. 2 commissioned by famous American producer Quincy Jones, and many other works. Miran Vaupotić also premiered opera Jelka written in 1901 by Blagoje Bersa, a Croatian composer of substantial influence.

    He recorded his debut album "Elegia" for Classic Concert Records with the Russian Symphony Orchestra Prokofiev featuring works by Di Marino. Recently released on Naxos label album "Sensations" featuring Di Marino and Piazzolla Bandoneon Concertos recorded with the Croatian Philharmonic Orchestra and Italian virtuoso Cesare Chiacchiaretta was quickly followed by recording of album "Mediterranean" with the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra for the same label featuring music of Charles Camilleri.

    Miran Vaupotić is the Chief Conductor of the Croatian Chamber Orchestra and is one of international ambassadors for the EMMA for Peace (Euro Mediterranean Music Academy) under the patronage of UNESCO and honorary presidency of Riccardo Muti.
