Russian-born American pianist Julia Zilberquit has earned critical acclaim as a recitalist, orchestral soloist, chamber musician, and recording artist.  She was praised by The New York Times as "an outstanding soloist" after her Carnegie Hall performance of Cesar Franck's symphonic poem Les Djinns for piano and orchestra with Leon Botstein and the American Symphony Orchestra.

In 2014 Warner Classics released her CD, Bach: Complete Solo Keyboard Concertos; Bach-Vivaldi . This recording features the premiere of two Bach-Vivaldi Concerti Grossi arranged by Ms. Zilberquit for piano and orchestra. The recording was hailed as a “gorgeous rendition” by the prestigious Gramophone Magazine.

    Ms. Zilberquit made an arrangement of Shostakovich’s Concertino for piano and orchestra and premiered it at Carnegie Hall. She performed it worldwide to critical acclaim and recorded the Concertino with Vladimir Spivakov and the Moscow Virtuosi.

    Julia Zilberquit’s other recordings include a solo recording, The Mystery of Bagatelles, released by Naxos. The CD was praised as a “superb performance” by The Washington Post, and described as an “adventurous program, sparkling with unusual clarity and pointalistic luminescence” in London’s Piano Magazine.

    Ms.Zilberquit has also recorded Jewish Music from Russia, featuring works by Prokofiev, Shostakovich and Slonimsky on the Harmonia Mundi label.

    Ms. Zilberquit premiered Slonimsky’s, The Jewish Rhapsody for Piano and Orchestra, which she commissioned. Slonimsky dedicated the piece to Julia Zilberquit and she performed it with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, in commemoration of the 60th Anniversary of the State of Israel.

    Julia Zilberquit has performed under the baton of Sir Yehudi Menuhin at the Beethoven Festival in Vienna.  Ms. Zilberquit discovered a virtually unknown early piano concerto by Beethoven and performed it in Moscow with Yuri Bashmet and the “Young Russia” orchestra. She has been a guest soloist with numerous orchestras, including Russian State Orchestra, Vienna Chamber Orchestra, Deutsche Symphony, Moscow Soloists, Cairo Symphony, Moscow Virtuosi, Bolshoi Orchestra, “I Musici de Montréal”, The Russian Philharmonia, Moscow Chamber Orchestra, Sinfonietta Cracovia, and Sinfonia Varsovia.

    Ms. Zilberquit has performed at the world's major halls including Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, 92nd Street Y, and the Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln centre. Her engagements at major international music festivals include appearances in Colmar (France), Klangbogen (Vienna), Valery Gergiev's “White Nights” Richter's “December Nights”, Bard Music Festival and the Penderecki Festival (Poland).

    Highlights of the last season included performance of Beethoven Easter Festival in Warsaw under the baton of Mikhail Jurowski and appearance with Russian State Orchestra and Marius Stravinsky in Moscow. In 2018 Julia Zilberquit made a Maltese premiere of her arrangements of Vivaldi- Bach concertos at the Malta International Festival.

    A native of Moscow, Julia Zilberquit was born into a family of musicians. She graduated from Moscow Gnessin School of Music and The Juilliard School (class of Bella Davidovich). She lives in New York City with her husband, son, and daughter.

Conrad van Alphen is known as much for entrepreneurial spirit and depth of preparation as he his is for performances that combine exceptional sensitivity, vision and freshness.

He enjoys a particularly close association with the Russian National Orchestra and is currently an artist of the Moscow Philharmonic Society, in which capacity he regularly conducts the major Moscow orchestras and many more throughout Russia. For four years he was chief conductor of the State Safonov Philharmonic Orchestra.

    At the turn of the new millennium, Conrad founded Sinfonia Rotterdam, of which he remains chief conductor and artistic director. The orchestra presents concert series at de Doelen in Rotterdam, at the Nieuwe Kerk in The Hague and at the Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. Under Conrad’s leadership, it has become an internationally recognised ensemble, has made acclaimed recordings, and has toured Mexico, Brazil, Columbia Chile and Russia.

    As a guest conductor Conrad works with some of the world’s most respected orchestras, such as the Montreal and Svetlanov Symphony Orchestras, the Brussels, Bogota and Moscow Philharmonics, the Bochumer Symphoniker as well as the Symphony Orchestra of the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona.

    As a recording artist, he has worked with Channel Classics, Telarc, Raptus, Talent Records, Cybele and Brilliant Classics. His disc of music by Rodrigo with the Sinfonia Rotterdam received Gramophone Magazine’s Editor’s Choice accolade, while his recent recording of the Hérold piano concertos with the WDR Radio Orchestra in Cologne was highly acclaimed by American Record Guide.

    Conrad works with soloists of the highest caliber. He has collaborated with Janine Jansen, Daniel Hope, Benjamin Schmid, Quirine Viersen, Ronald Brautigam, Alban Gerhardt, Simone Lamsma and Nikita Boriso-Glebsky among many others. He enjoys a regular and close collaboration with master-pianist Mikhail Pletnev.

    Conrad was born in Pretoria, South Africa, in 1963. After concentrated music studies he moved to The Netherlands at the age of 26, where he joined the double bass section of the Radio Symphony Orchestra, Hilversum, and the Beethoven Academie, Antwerp. He studied conducting with Eri Klas and Roberto Benzi.
